1. Q1: How much work is there for a GP?
   A: Around 15 mins filling in Source Document Verification (SDV) form if a patient comes on to a study

2. Q2: What if I cannot do mailmerges?
   A: Again, we can send you instructions, train your staff or help you to do this. An alternative is for you to provide Synexus with a copy of your practice letterhead, and we will print standard letters and pack them for you. All the practice needs to do is provide address labels for the envelopes.

3. Q3: Is there a breach of confidentiality?
   A: No – Synexus has no direct contact with patients unless they approach us in response to the letter from the GP. We never hold the list of suitable patients’ names and addresses: that is why labels are provided by the practice. We only ever hold information on patients who have asked to take part in a study, and who have given their formal agreement for the GP to provide relevant medical information. Every study we discuss with you has been rigorously examined and ethically approved, and all our procedures are carefully scrutinised and quality assured.
