Type 2 Diabetes

Synexus has many years experience in conducting successful clinical studies in their centres across the world, including 7 centres in the UK. The purpose of a clinical research study is to answer important questions about a new medicine, for example: does it improve a person’s health and which dose of the medicine works best?

We are identifying patients for a clinical trial called Balance, using a new diabetes medication, designed to work alongside your existing treatment.

The Balance study will investigate whether a new medicine can reduce blood sugar in patients with Type II diabetes, when used in combination with another medicine - metformin.

This study may be suitable for you if you are:

  • being treated for your diabetes with metformin only
  • aged 18 or over

The study will last for approximately 18 weeks, during which time the study team will monitor your diabetes and general health very closely.
